With vines grown up to 3,500 feet, this blend of Syrah, Petit Rouge and a touch of Cornalin light up the palate with lifted cherry and cranberry notes, wild game and white pepper. Fine tannins and mouth-watering acidity give the wine's finish a big push that goes on for a long time.
The Aosta Valley lies at the foot of Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc, in the northwestern corner of Italy. Surrounded by the Alp's highest peaks, Aosta is home to Europe’s highest vineyards many of which reach heights over 1,000 meters. The soils are mainly rocky and alluvial, with slate, granite and quartz.
Despite the alpine position, located at the south side of the Alps the Aosta Valley is blessed with a high amount of sunshine and relatively low rainfall. Due to geographical, physical, and climatic limitations, Aosta Valley has always been considered a “harsh” territory. Therefore, wine production is focused on quality rather than quantity. A fine example is the Rosset winery where quality is at the forefront, if you can find their wines.
The Rosset family decided to plant their first vineyards in the area of Saint Christophe in 2001. The first cultivated plot was about three hectares at an altitude of around 750 meters. The varieties planted were Chardonnay, Syrah, and the indigenous Cornalin. Some years later, Petit Rouge, another autochthonous red variety, was planted in the same area.

Inspired by the cider tradition in the Basque Country, we wanted to make a dry, wildly natural cider with beautiful acidity, and we were excited to see what spin New York apples would give to this style of cider. We discovered that the incredible acidity of New York apples really packs a punch, in the true spirit of Brooklyn! Our Raw cider is fresh and mouth puckering with crisp green apple and citrus aromas. The bouquet is enchanting, a dazzling display of white flowers, bramble fruit, and a slight note of baking spice. The fruit is lush and plush and feels incredible on the palate (semi-carbonic maceration at play). The finish is silky smooth showing great balance and drinkability. Equis is a joyful, playful wine that doesn't take itself too seriously and yet presents enough layers to keep the most classic plates engaged. This is a crowd pleaser for sure!

Maria Jose Lopez de Heredia's husband, Jos?? Luis Ripa S??enz de Navarrete, has started making a stunning Rosado under his own label. If you had the opportunity to taste at the Lopez de Heredia's Rosado before, you know how complex and beautiful it is. Jos?? is emulating that style by aging his Rosado as well.
Pale salmon pink color with an orange hue. Aromas of cherry with nuances or red berries, dry flowers and Mediterranean herbs. Fine and elegant tannins, vibrant acidity, moderate alcohol and long finish, with notes of cassis in the aftertaste.
"Grenache and Tempranillo grapes from two 30+ year old, bush-pruned vineyards located in the Najerilla Valley, in the Rioja Alta district of the DOC Rioja, where soils are of calcareous clay type with a slightly higher ferric percentage than in the rest of the district.
The grapes were destemmed and taken to a stainless steel vat, where must was bled (saign??e) for about 24 hours and racked. After that, the juice was taken to 500-liter French oak used barrels, where it fermented and stayed for another 18 months. The blending of the wines from the two different grapes was done just a few days before bottling and consisted of 85% Grenache and 15% Tempranillo.
