Refined nose with peppery and earthy undertones to the savory berry fruit, subtle vanilla and orange. Minerals as well. This is firm and quite long on the palate, with medium body and a traditional, nicely rustic twist at the end. Really poised and persistent, showing precision and finesse. One of the best Reserva expressions lately from Marques de Riscal? A joy to drink now, but will hold well over the next 10 years.

Tempranillo sourced from a vineyard planted in 1970 in Rioja Alavesa. This dark purple wine unfurls with aromas of dried plums and balsamic over an oaky layer. Dry and rich on the palate, the firm tannins are enlivened by an ethereal mouthfeel a warm, flavorful and overwhelming wine.

The 2022 Bodegas Juan Gil Silver Label Monastrell from Jumilla, Spain, is a rich, full-bodied red wine that exemplifies the bold character of Monastrell (also known as Mourv??dre). This wine comes from high-altitude vineyards with low-yielding vines, which contribute to its concentration and intensity. The Silver Label Monastrell is well-known for offering remarkable depth, structure, and a powerful expression of its terroir in Jumilla's hot, arid climate.

Quite an aromatic chardonnay here, with discerning notes of sliced green apples, melon and lemon zest. Round and textured, with simple apple pith and nectarines in the pristine yet flavorful palate. Lots of fruit in the round, medium- to full-bodied palate.

Vajra 2021 Barolo Albe is an enormously versatile expression of Nebbiolo with an affordable price that offers more value for your money than most Barolos out there. The bouquet focuses on dark berry pressed flower and crushed stone. It offers good sharpness over broad lines. The mouthfeel is medium-plus in texture and it closes with silky accessible tannins. Fruit comes from three cru sites: Coste di Vergne Fossati and La Volta
