For an entry-level wine this is a stunner! Wonderful nose of white peach, lemon blossom and jasmine. So succulent, with excellent ripeness and concentration, but nothing flashy or any hint of opulence. The best thing about the wine is the long, very silky finish. And this is properly dry. The bulk of Red Tail Ridge’s production is Riesling, but Nancy and Mike have also planted several clones of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir alongside small experimental plots of Blaufrankisch, Dornfelder and Teroldego. A subtle and textural dry riesling that belongs to the new school of Finger Lakes dry rieslings. Restrained peach and tangerine fruit with some floral nuances and lees complexity. The acidity is already beautifully integrated. Excellent mid-palate density and a long salty finish completes the impressive picture. Drink or hold.

Our attempt to make a more structured red wine from an amazing site. Extended maceration and aging have led to beautifully integrated tannins and some more density than you may be used to in our wines. - Winery

Organic / Natural

45% Blaufrankisch, 15% Chardonnay, 35% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon grown along Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes. The grapes for this wine were co-fermented in one-ton bins with around 30% of whole cluster fermentation. No adjustments were made to the fermentations and they proceeded at ambient temperatures using ambient wild yeast for both primary fermentation and malolactic. When the fermentations were winding down, they were pressed in a basket press and racked into older (7-10-year-old) French Oak barrels where they remained for a year and a half. The barrels were blended and a small sulfur addition (30ppm) was made before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 11.8% abv

Organic / Natural

White Horse is Bloomer Creek's light-hearted tribute Cheval Blanc, the great Saint-milion blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The Cabernet Franc for White Horse comes from Bloomer's Auten and Barrow Vineyards (vine age ranges from 9-25 years), the Merlot comes from Barrow Vineyard and was planted in 2015. Vinification is similar to the 2019 Cabernet Franc, with a blend of destemmed, crushed and whole cluster fruit fermented in open vats over a three week period. The wine is matured for two years in oak before bottling, unfined and unfiltered.
