Chateau Grimard is a small, three generation-old family estate located in the commune of Lugon, just outside the Fronsac region on the right-bank of Bordeaux. The vineyard lies on a south-east slope, which is ideal for attaining full ripeness. The vines have an average age of 25 years. Chateau Grimard is a classic Bordeaux, offering a deep red-purple color, a lush bouquet, and ripe plummy-cassis fruit with good structure. It is a wine with more definition and character than most other petite
chateaux, which is in part due to the excellent location of the property, where the Merlot grape thrives in the area’s clay soils. Chateau Grimard is vinified and matured in stainless steel tanks to ensure that it gives immediate pleasure at the table. It is a versatile, food-friendly wine that can be enjoyed with fowl and red meat dishes.

Winemaker Notes:
The deep, dark color of this wine creates an expectation of weight and purpose, however the Essential Red’s first impressions are subtle and nuanced. Faint notes of sweet garden mint and eucalyptus tantalize the senses, while hinting at the complexity yet to come. Upon the first sip, the rich, juicy mouthfeel takes over, expressive with flavors of blueberry and blackberry. After aging in American oak for 12 months, the wine finishes with round, plush and succulent flavors of baked cobbler the perfect dessert to end any day. Food pairing The Essential Barbecue Burger. Pt. Reyes Blue Cheese. Dark Chocolate Macarons.

Winemaker Notes:
The original. Medium-bodied with black cherry, cola, strawberry, plum, and soft tannins. No wonder this Pinot is a favorite.

Pairs well with pastas with light tomato-based sauces, a juicy cheeseburger, grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, or if you're not a cook, drink it on its own.

This medium bodied, deep red blend is bold with strong fruit flavors and hints of sweet blackberry. Well-balanced with medium tannins, this wine would pair well with poultry or pasta dishes.

Gregory Perez’s more natural approach to winemaking is evident when first pulling the cork. A bit of gas releasing is common, nothing a quick decant or pouring two glasses won’t fix. Floral in the nose with bright crunchy acidity on the palate. Red fruit is on full display here with an underlying spice. Unoaked.

The Clássico Branco is made from 50% Antão Vaz, 40% Roupeiro, and 10% Fernão Pires grown in the schist soils of the Alentejano. The wine is medium bodied with a broad, integrated acidity. Flavors of ripe apple skin, meyer lemon and a distinct, spicy minerality flow across the palate. Enjoy with oily fishes or braised vegetables.

Winemaker Notes:
The grapes come from vineyards, 30-40 years old, with yields of 2T/Ha and located high on the hillsides, 700-900 metres above sea level. The vineyards are planted in mainly decomposed slate and gravely clay soils. The fermentation was carried out in small stainless steel tanks for 15 days at temperetures below 27ºC, and then spent a short period of two months in French oak barrels.
It exhibits greater aromatic complexity, richness with mineral and blueberry notes leading to a savory and spicy wine nicely balanced and very easy to drink.

Food Pairing:
Pair with rice, pasta (noodles, spaghetti, macaroni), white and blue fish, goat cheese, cold meat, vegetables, lentil soup, peas,
mushroom, beef, chicken, roast meat, red and white grill meat.

Tasting Notes:
Color of intense dark cherry with a violet edge. Intense nose, dominated by ripe red fruits, raspberry, currant, together with balsamic and mineral notes. Powerful in the mouth, full-bodied, pleasantly tannic and fruity with a light spice on the finish.
