Gentle hints of citrus confit, marzipan, dried leaves, mint and spice all grace this understated, nuanced Meunier from Christophe Mignon. This cuvée is fermented and aged in tank (as opposed to oak), so it doesn't quite have the textural breadth conferred by wood. Even so, it is quite attractive.
These are some of the very finest wines I have tasted from Christophe Mignon. A decidedly mythical figure in the world of Champagne, Mignon’s philosophy takes familiar concepts of sustainability and expounds upon them with an almost spiritual, all-encompassing approach to following what he feels is the rhythm of nature. Vineyards are cared for with maniacal attention in every aspect. That comes through in vivid, dynamic Champagnes loaded with character. - Antonio Galloni of Vinous
