The life of the party, this lucid, bombastic Savvy B offers up heady lime, lemongrass and pink grapefruit aromas, with a whisper of dried herbs below. There's a gently slippery quality to the texture. In rushes the limey acidity to dial it up a notch or ten.

In the mouth it is both syrupy smooth and refreshing, with a slightly bitter finish which is typical of the variety making it long and pleasant to drink. Overall it is a fresh, well-balanced wine." Bodegas de los Herederos del Marques de Riscal S.L. has 225 hectares of vineyards of more than 15 years, planted with among other grapes, the indigenous verdejo variety. A versatile grape with a lot of character and personality, it is very well suited to the extreme conditions of the region, allowing us to produce fresh young wines or cask-fermented whites.

Blending of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc. Mainly clay and calcareous soils. The wine is aged in vats without malolactic fermentation.

A whiff of lemon oil mixes with sweet mint and crushed rocks as the 2024 Etna Bianco opens in the glass. This is juicy and playful in feel with ripe melon and a cascade of inner florals that swirl throughout. It leaves a salty sensation and nuances of candied citrus on the wickedly fresh finish.

60 Carricante, 25 Catarratto, 10 Grecanico, 5 Minnella from vineyards located on the northern slopes of the Etna volcano at 600-900 meters above seal level. After harvest at the beginning of October, the grapes go through a soft pressing and low temperature fermentation in stainless steel.

This cuvee is sourced from vines the age of which is between 45 and 70 years. A wine of exceptional concentration for a village level appellation, this wine is always a true expression of the kimmeridgian soils that make Chablis so distinctive. Aged for thirty months before release, Defaix?????s old vines Chablis is richly dense with a classic "pierre a fusil" bouquet and long mineral-infused finish.

The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc comes from 27 sites and sees 10% matured in 7th fill neutral oak barrels after four months on the lees. Attractive on the nose with Golden Delicious, pine and light resinous notes. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite taut and lightly spiced; just a faint hint of stem ginger appears towards the finish. Enjoy this over the next seven to eight years.

Southern Right is the value line from one of South Africa?????s great wineries Hamilton Russel. They specialize in Pinotage and Sauvignon blanc on a strikingly beautiful 448 hectare property in the cool, maritime, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation, just behind the old fishing village of Hermanus. The wines are named after the rare Southern Right whales, which frequent the cool South Atlantic Walker Bay, 3 kilometres from the vineyards. With each bottle sold, Southern Right makes a contribution to their conservation.

Made in a way ensuring the personality of site and soil is not overridden by the forceful character of the variety, this wine exhibits the typical Southern Right balance of "Old World" minerality and length with hints of "New World" palate coverage and body. The 2020 expresses individuality, minerality and palate complexity ahead of pure, pungent varietal aroma. A significant percentage of fruit from iron and clay-rich soil has added a mid-palate structural component and additional overall complexity to this wine. The Sandstone soils have contributed their typical bright, tensile character and a marked minerality.

Well-rounded and harmonious with concentrated fruit flavors of peaches yellow plums, apricots and floral notes while mineral on the palate with long mouth-watering finish. 50% Encruzado, 15% Malvasia Fina, 15% Bical, 15% Cerceal Branco, 5% others (co-ferment). After harvest, some grapes undergo 24 hours of skin contact, with the remainder pressed whole-cluster into cement and steel tanks. Following spontaneous fermentation, the wine ages on its lees for six months.

Natalia Jessa is the mastermind behind Gota which has a simple yet bold objective: craft aromatically-driven, authentic fine wines of Portugal, while remaining value-conscious. Her many prior travels throughout Portuguese wine country on behalf of one of Europe?????s major food markets enabled Natalia to develop invaluable relationships and gain access to some of the most exciting and as-of-yet undiscovered wineries and vineyards. She collaborates with them, as negociant, to select grapes that capture the optimal expression of a vintage. Vineyards are dry-farmed. Vines are ungrafted. To preserve fruit aromatics, winemaking utilizes ambient yeast and minimizes oak use. Adhering to tradition, wines are varietal blends and grapes are only native (no international varietals). Gota means "drop", referring to the humble origins of this project.

100% Gruner Veltliner, grown in loess soils. Just over half of the grapes for this wine come from Silke's family's vineyards; the rest are sourced from neighboring growers in Krems and Dross. This is bottled and made in the shared Buchegger-Mayr winery. Full-bunch pressing; fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures, aged on the lees in tank until February of the following year.

This is a straightforward, spicy Gruner; light in body and fruit-driven, this is a stellar white "table wine", able to pair well with just about anything white wine goes with.

"There is no mistaking the New World style of this wine. Intense aromas of grapefruit, citrus, kiwi and fresh cut grass greet the nose. Our Sauvignon Blanc celebrates the fresh lively spirit of organic viticulture and the crafting of this wine truly begins in the vineyards. This fruit comes from exceptional organic growers who share our philosophy and care deeply about the land they farm. For each vintage, we blend fruit from two distinctive, yet complimentary, growing regions in Mendocino and Lake counties. We pick fruit at a variety of sugar levels and add a touch of Muscat and Chardonnay to get a complex layering of flavors, then cold ferment in stainless steel to preserve the crisp fruit aromas.

The 2023 Nisia Las Suertes is 100% Verdejo from very old vines (possibly even the 1880s) and was aged on the lees with bâtonnage for a minimum of 7 months in French oak puncheons and demi-muids. It has more melon ball, hay, crushed stone, and subtly honey nuances that carry to a beautifully textured, layered white with a gorgeous mid-palate, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's a serious wine that's geared for the dinner table.

A bright white, light on its feet and graceful yet still creamy and generous on the palate, with flavors of baked white peach, macadamia nut, grated ginger and a touch of lemon-infused pastry cream. Shows a spine of lively acidity and a subtle layer of salty mineral. - Winery

Grapes for the 2023 Chardonnay Russian River Valley were harvested over the course of a month, from initial picks on September 13 to the last pick on October 14. It was barrel-fermented, underwent full malolactic conversion and was matured for 12 months in 10% new French oak barrels. It has open, inviting aromas of stone fruit and pineapple, panna cotta, ginger, toasted brioche and honey. The palate combines concentrated, layered flavors with fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a very long, perfumed finish.

balanced by a touch of freshly squeezed grapefruit and lime. Juicy and refreshing, with aromas of

Lake County, the core of the blend, contributes floral, citrus and lemongrass notes as well as ripe melon, pineapple and grapefruit flavors. Mendocino County adds floral honeysuckle aromas. Sonoma County lends a hint of ripe pear. A touch of Semillon and Chardonnay round out the mouthfeel and provide the delightful fig and perfume tones.

The 2023 Chablis Au Dessus des Carri??res was bottled a couple of weeks prior to my visit after 12 months on the lees and a fermentation that was strung out over 12 months! It has an exquisite, beautifully defined and focused bouquet surfeit with minerals. The palate is very precise, poised, saline and tangy, with a dab of iodine toward the finish. The 2023 is excellent.

The "Dessus La Carriere" comes from vines over 50 years old. It has an intense wet limestone and oyster shell bouquet that is beautifully defined and quintessentially Chablis. The palate is vibrant right from the start, slightly chalky in texture, with a killer line of acidity and a surfeit of green apples mixed with crushed stone on the austere but utterly captivating finish.

Nicolas Millerioux's Sancerre Blanc Tradition exhibits the true characteristics and purity of the appellation with notes of boxwood, lemon and hints of fresh almonds on the nose. The palate is fresh, crisp and with good acidity to lift and enhance the zesty fruit and freshness. This classic Loire Valley white wine is bone dry and extremely food-friendly.

Nicolas Millerioux is a young French vigneron who took over the family estate in 2008. Located in the hamlet of Amigny, just west of the village of Sancerre and south of Chavignol, the Milleriouxs have worked the land here for three generations, eventually expanding to the 15ha they farm today. Amigny is known for its chalky soils, and 95% of the Millerioux's holdings come from a mix of the classic limestone terroirs of the region: "Caillotes" (a hard, shallow limestone full of stones) and "Terres Blanches" (a softer Kimmeridgian marl).

In 2008 Nicolas brought organic farming to the family estate. Today, the work in the vineyards is completely organic (with certification coming) and the soils are worked manually. In the cellar, all of the wines are allowed to ferment naturally and extended lees-aging is used to enrich the wines, which allows for minimal sulfur additions only at racking and bottling. Nicolas' goal is to define how Sancerre might have tasted earlier in the 20th century, before modern vine-clone monotony and industrial practices in the vineyards and cellar, and if his early work is any indication, he will surely be leading the charge as part of Sancerre's new generation.

We want to enhance the best fruit that Rapel Valley offers its natural tipicity, structure and natural acidity. Our key points are strict fruit selection, natural juice decantation and low temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks. We added 8% of Semillon from our old vines from Apalta vineyard and 6% of Sauvignon Gris; the result is a wine that kept its natural flavor and acidity, delicate notes of white fruit and big complexity in the nose and a rounder mid palate an a crisp acidity.
