Nose: Rounded and subtly smoky (applewood), with creamy toffee, aniseed and dates. A curious suggestion of juicy fruits, such as peach and banana. With a drop of water, reminders of Ardbeg?????s classic fragrance: lime, pine resin, fennel, saddle soap and tar. Palate: A smooth, creamy texture leads into a huge syrupy sweetness, flavours of aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves. Gentle, sweet spices (nutmeg and cinnamon), some cigar smoke, and a very unusual flavour of grilled artichokes. Long and sweet, with floral overtones and malty, biscuit notes. Islay, Scotland- Burnt Sienna in color with Dark chocolate and raisin aromas that compliment the classic Bowmore smokiness. Wonderful cedar wood and rich treacle toffee flavors and a robust and warming finish.

Mellow mahogany in color and classic Bowmore smokiness, perfectly tempered with caramel, chocolate and fruit aromas. Nose - the smoke is calmed by a marine character with aromas of thyme, heather, ginger and nutmeg.

Palate - there is a noticeable delicacy and softness in texture and style with notes of vanilla, honey and smoked oysters. The finish is smoky, of course, but there is a sweetness that recalls orange, mango and apple. - Rich and Peaty -

"Lagavulin is a classic example of how smoke isn't a blunt instrument that covers everything in a fog, but an element that works with all the flavours produced in distillation and maturation. Lagavulin isn't 'smokey,' its peat moves into a weird territory of Lapsang Souchong tea and pipe tobacco, fishboxes and kippers. It smells of laurel and light cereal, but is always sweet.
