Winemaker's Notes:
Segura Viudas hand crafts distinctive, artisan methode champenoise sparkling wines according to Cava traditions begun over 100 years ago. Steeped in rich Spanish heritage and situated on an estate that dates to the 11th century, Segura Viudas draws on this legacy, blending it with modern winemaking to create sophisticated yet approachable Cavas. The Segura Viudas wines come from the renowned Penedes region of Spain just outside of Barcelona. Reserva Heredad is the estate’s crown jewel?our tete de cuvee?a Cava blended from just Macabeo and Parellada that enjoys aging on the lees for 30 months or longer and riddling by hand.
The opening aromas are from aging on the lees, lightly smokey, with touches of biscuit or bread, which are followed by hints of honey, fruit and flower petals. The palate is excellent, fruity and full of flavor, with dried fruits delivering a delightful sense of abundance.

This Cava defines elegant refreshment, even in it’s presentation. It is a perfect companion for creamy pastas, such as alfredo. It marries perfectly with meat dishes, such as pork and chicken.

A neatly cut array of refined red and black cherries in a pristinely cast style. The palate has an elegant and neatly defined core of supple, long and ripe fruit flavor and carries a wealth of crisp, fresh, cherry-soaked tannins at the finish.

Winemaker's Notes:
As this wine is poured into your glass, you will notice its beautiful, dark ruby red color. This is a classic Russian River Pinot Noir that expresses aromas and flavors of dark fruit. The first impression starts in the nose with aromas of intense blackberry, cola and black raspberry followed by a touch of vanilla and hints of rhubarb, baking spice, licorice, dark chocolate and earth. The wine is richly textured and balanced with a beautiful brightness. Flavors of black cherry, tobacco and sweet barrel spice shine throughout. Fine tannins round out the long, juicy finish.

We sourced our grapes from vineyards throughout Napa Valley, collecting fruit from several locations to show the diversity and depth of this world-renowned wine region. A portion of the wine comes from Rutherford, where the famous Rutherford Dust gives distinctive notes of cocoa powder, juicy fruit and complex tannins. The mountain vineyards provide rich aromatics, briary intensity and a bright pop of boysenberry. The northern Napa Valley floor vineyards complement the profile, providing rich texture and luscious tannins. - Winemaker's notes

Winery Notes:
"Dark garnet red with a purple hue. The nose of this opulent blend is incredibly flashy with abundant aromas of red currant, raspberry, blackberry cobbler, spice and a hint of underbrush. The French oak is subtle, yet present. This powerful wine boasts copious amounts of juicy, ripe red fruit characteristics and is extraordinarily soft and supple. In addition, hints of lingering milk chocolate and cherry truffle notes dance on the back palate."

Spicy cherry, minerals and maple syrup on the nose. At once smooth and structured, with excellent intensity and a firm backbone. Not especially sweet. Long, fairly powerful and slightly harsh on the finish. - IWC
