VIDA de San Luis Del Rio is an artisanal, organic, value priced Mezcal from Del Maguey. Hand crafted, it is twice distilled, very slowly in small wood-fired, riverside copper stills. It has fruity aromatics with hints of honey, vanilla and roast agave. The palate offers ginger, cinnamon, banana and tangerine, with a long, soft finish. Banhez Mezcal is produced by a co-op comprised of families from various villages in the Ejutla district of Oaxaca. They produce mezcal the same way it's been done by their ancestors for nearly two centuries.

40% Malbec, 30% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is the one wine in our Mexican wine selection that speaks to the Mexican heat. This is a full-bodied red with a voluptuous presence on the palate and chewy tannins. Reminded me of the wines of Ribera del Duero, decadent but crafted really well.

A very fine but still affordable Anejo Tequila. Aroma: cooked agave blended with spice and floral notes. Taste: smooth with cooked agave and notes of toasted oak and dried fruit. Finish: creamy, melts across your tongue.

Using 100% Weber blue agave, picked at their peak, anywhere from 8-12 years old. The Anejo is aged in French Oak barrels for a minimum of 14 months. Its finish is spicy and well rounded with flavors of toasted oak, vanilla and butterscotch. This deep, luxurious tequila is ideal for sipping.

Run by the Familia Sanchez Altamirano, the home distillery is in San Baltazar Chichicapam in the hills above the Ocotlan Valley. Organic / Biodynamic

The 2023 is a brilliantly crisp vintage for this white from the biodynamic organic Carrodilla winery. Those familiar with this wine will be surprised to find that the 2023 is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc rather than a blend of Sauv and Chenin as it has been for many years. In this vintage, ample sunlight and a balanced growing season combined with a winter that was sufficiently cold and wet to keep the vines dormant until the early spring to create a wine with elegance and vigor beyond its pedigree. Lighter on the tropical notes found in many of the Sauvignon Blancs from this region, here one finds more the high citrus notes of lemon and lemongrass layered in with grapefruit, white peach, fresh cut lawn and honeydew melon.

Organic / Natural

This is a dry, beautifully complex Rose from 50% Nebbiolo 50% Grenache.
12.4% abv. This is, without a doubt, one of the best Roses we have tasted all year! Delicate in color but not in character. This is not Provencal in style nor Piedmont as the variety may suggest, but more akin to Bandol Rose. Layer upon layer keeps revealing itself as you sit with the wine. Superb!

The philosophy of Dominio de las Abejas is very simple: sustainable vineyard with organic certification by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) and minimal intervention winemaking. Wild fermentations, no corrections, no fining or refining.

Los Amantes mezcal is an artisanal spirit made from 100% agave grown in Oaxaca [wah-ha-cah], Mexico's premium mezcal region. Los Amantes translates to The Lovers and It is considered by some to be one of the best mezcals from Oaxaca. The nose has sultry layers of smoke, clove and vanilla deftly interlaced with citrus nuances. The palate has earth and smoky flavors and is soft sweet and warm.
