This vibrant, full-bodied red is a blend of grapes harvested in parcels spread amongst the three communes of Barbaresco, Neive and Alba. Included as the primary source are grapes harvested in the cru “Ga’Grosso” in Barbaresco. The grapes are crushed and are then fermented in stainless steel for almost two weeks after which the wine is racked into oak barrels and “botti” for one year prior to bottling. The average age of the vines is 30 years.

The grapes come from vineyards, 30-40 years old, with yields of 2T/Ha and located high on the hillsides, 700-900 metres above sea level. The vineyards are planted in mainly decomposed slate and gravely clay soils. The fermentation was carried out in small stainless steel tanks for 15 days at temperetures below 27ºC, and then spent a short period of two months in French oak barrels.
It exhibits greater aromatic complexity, richness with mineral and blueberry notes leading to a savory and spicy wine nicely balanced and very easy to drink.
Food Pairing:
Pair with rice, pasta (noodles, spaghetti, macaroni), white and blue fish, goat cheese, cold meat, vegetables, lentil soup, peas,
mushroom, beef, chicken, roast meat, red and white grill meat.

A wine which pays homage to the adventure of the Portuguese sailors that explored the world in the XV Century. The route from Europe to the Indian Ocean - known as the "Silk & Spice Route" - was pioneered by Vasco da Gama who rounded the Cape of Good Hope in 1498. Flavors like nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper changed world cuisine, while silk from China became prized for its luxurious touch. The wine is bottled filtered and stabalized. Malo sometimes happens but is not controled.

Pale lemon-green. Aromas of ripe pineapple, citrus fruits, and white flowers. Notes of honeysuckle and toasted almond on the palate are lifted by lively acidity.
Harvested from the southeastern-facing Apice estate in Sannio DOC, on volcanic, mineral-rich, sandy-loam soils. Espalier-trained vines are Guyot pruned and sit at 350m a.s.l. Vines are planted at a density of 3,000 vines / hectare, producing an average yield of 8,500 kg/ha (7,580 lbs/acres) and 2.8 kg/vine (6 lbs/vine). Average age of the vines are 15 years. Hand harvested the last week of September. This unaged white is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its fresh fruit flavors. Refinement in bottle for at least one month.
