Inspired by the cider tradition in the Basque Country, we wanted to make a dry, wildly natural cider with beautiful acidity, and we were excited to see what spin New York apples would give to this style of cider. We discovered that the incredible acidity of New York apples really packs a punch, in the true spirit of Brooklyn! Our Raw cider is fresh and mouth puckering with crisp green apple and citrus aromas. Hot pink in hue, the 2024 Dry Rosé Nutt Road Vineyard is what Cabernet Franc Rosé is all about. Ripe strawberry, red licorice, hard candy, tobacco leaf, lavender and a green herbaceous tilt lend tons of nuance and varietal character to this layered, especially vinous Rosé. It really explodes through the mid-palate and finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to give this some time in the cellar, but it’s suave and sophisticated today, with generous weight and hefty structure to burn. Impressive.

The very young and just bottled 2024 Dócil, still undeveloped, is closer to the original idea to produce a kind of Kabinett trocken with Loureiro grapes with contained ripeness and high acidity counterbalanced by a little residual sugar, only around three grams; they experimented from completely dry to 18 grams, and this is the one they liked the most in terms of balance. They did a soft pressing, no maceration, to have elegance and a little volume. It has very good balance. The source of the grapes changed to a more Atlantic location from this vintage, and the year was also cooler than 2022.

Fresh and fruit-centric, the price here may be super accessible for everyday, but its treatment by this famed Douro producer is nothing less than classically old-school. The point in a young, vintage-blended ruby is to keep the fruit lively and juicy, with a texture that feels velvety-luxurious in your mouth and is nothing less than a pleasure on the tongue. Taylor Fladgate's Special Ruby NV port sees up to four years in large, oak casks and when you sip it, you can really feel that intense softness and supple texture from not rushing it through the process. 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 10% old vine Carignan and Mourvedre. Sixty acres of terraced vineyards surrounding the property. Average vine age is 30 years old. East-west exposure on northern slopes on clay-limestone. Biodynamically farmed, all grapes hand-harvested. Traditional vinification methods are used with indigenous yeasts and fermented in stainless steel. Aged in large foudres.

Nestled in the hills just below the spectacular perched village of Bonnieux, this idyllic property is run by Jean-Pierre and Martine Margan. The building is from the 17th century and has been inhabited ever since. Springing from the hill is a very strong fountain which supplies abundant amounts of water in even the driest years and the rolling hills behind the property are covered with grape vines, truffle oak trees and 200 year old cherry trees. The Margans know that they have something very special going, and their approach to viticulture reflects this. The sixty acres of terraced vineyards surrounding the property are farmed organically and biodynamically and the average age of the vines is over thirty years old. In the last few years, Canorgue’s wine has become incredibly popular in Europe, and this was only intensified when the region around this estate was made famous in Peter Mayle’s book A Year In Provence. They are undoubtedly at the top of their appellation and the quality level of the wines produced here can often rival those produced in the prestigious vineyards of the southern Rhone valley.

The 2019 Cune Reserva was produced with a blend of Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo from Haro. 2018 was a warm and healthy year that delivered a wine with 14% alcohol and good balance. It fermented in 20,000-liter stainless steel vats and matured in French and American oak barrels for 18 months. It's a classical warm year in the style of 2009, or 2015, already with some tertiary notes, hints of earth and leather, spicy and with abundant tannins that call for food

Don’t let the vintage fool you, this is as fresh as can be, it seems as though it hasn’t aged a day! Pulso evokes intense aromas of sour cherries, red fruits and flowers. This medium-bodied red is delicate on the palate with great balance, elegance and mouthwatering acidity. This is a beautiful example of Malbec with character in excess.

Sustainable with very low intervention. 92% Malbec and 8% Cabernet Franc. Native yeasts with long post-alcoholic fermentation macerations. 3 different vinification techniques are used for Malbec:#1 Traditional vinification with whole berries. #2 Whole berries fermentation + 30% reincorporated stems. #3 Whole berries fermentation in Apollo Eggs for about 120 days.

The Cabernet franc is fermented as whole berries. Aged 12 months in old barrels and Apollo Eggs that allow micro-oxygenation. Only 404 cases were produced.

Located in the coastal region of the Colchagua Valley are the vines that give birth to this wine. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate: 400 mm rainfall per year concentrated in winter, moderate to high temperatures in summer moderated by the breeze that comes from the mountains in the morning and the ocean in the afternoon. It is a small valley surrounded by mountains from which the soils with decomposed granite originated, in variable depths depending on the slope. A loamy-sand texture that provides the wine with its unique floral aromas. Yields: 8 tons/hectare

The varietal 2024 Muros Antigos Alvarinho is their entry-level Alvarinho, linked to Melgaço, from slopes where there's more granite and less alluvial elements, silt and clay, higher altitude vineyards and shallower soils. In drier years, the vines suffer more, but that's not the case in 2024. This has some austerity and a vibrant palate, serious, still elegant, floral and perfumed, varietal with restraint. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.14 and 5.9 grams of acidity, which means harmony and balance.

From all native Portuguese grapes, the prevalent grape in this blend is Loureiro. António and Sara vinify their wines by parcel rather than by varietal, which means this Vinho Verde is a direct product of the vineyard from which it came. Biotite, the cuvé’s namesake, is the dominant mineral present in the soils of this vineyard, lending a racy mineral quality to this wine. Grapes are handpicked and pressed in a pneumatic press while cold. Fermentation begins using only natural yeasts in stainless steel vats, after which the wine is aged in steel. Tart and racy with beautiful aromatics. Lovely texture from the lees and a dry crisp finish. Still wine, no effervescence. 12.5% abv

I love white wine, sometimes I think it would be nice to only make white wine. If I had to white or red forever I would choose white. It has been fun to make various varietal wines, seeing my techniques through the various lenses that varieties provide. But when you think of Santa Barbara County as a region we grow a lot of different things, this wine wine is inspired by that diversity. Mudflows are a big part of the local geology and you can see them in cuts made across topography for roads and such all over the area. These “Pockets Full of Stones” came to mind when Jenn showed me some of the watercolor studies she has been working on. This blend of chardonnay and sauvignon blanc is my attempt to show the region and my technique more than variety. Neutral French oak fermented and aged. - Winery
