Method Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

The Wine Enthusiast's #1 Best Buy Of 2025 is.....

I feel as though the holiday season has officially begun because the wine press is releasing its top wines of the year reports! All the top wine publications seem to now be doing this, not just The Wine Spectator, although The Wine Spectator is the most popular for sure. Some of the press’s recommendations we agree with, and some not so much. However, one highly recommended wine we definitely do agree with is The Wine Enthusiast’s number one Best Buy of 2025… Method California Cabernet Sauvignon 2023.

Honestly, we were not familiar with this California Cabernet Sauvignon, but when we saw the press, we had to at least try a bottle. Well, it turns out that the wine is dynamite, especially at our pricing. See, with the wonderful press, many stores probably raised their price since most are selling this for $20-$25 a bottle. Personally, as much as I enjoyed this wine, I believe you can do better at that price point, but at $14.97 and $13.97 by the case, Method is a steal! This Cabernet Sauvignon is extremely expressive straight out of the gate, not shy at all, and drinks silky smooth with barely any tannin whatsoever. A full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that is easy-drinking… sign me up!

Method is an innovative negociant project born from the combined passion and expertise of Master Sommelier Ian Cauble (featured in the documentary "Somm") and vintner Trevor Sheehan of Precision Wine Company. This dynamic team's mission is to create wines that offer quality far exceeding their price point. Using their extensive connections as leading wine industry professionals, they meticulously source small lots of fruit from some of the most iconic and highly regarded vineyards across California, including Napa Valley, Sonoma, Lake County, and Mendocino. This philosophy of using the "crème de la crème of fruit" from top organic vineyards is at the heart of their approach.

Sometimes, a great winemaker and a Master Sommelier can create something unique. This selection does not disappointopulent aromas of blackberry, cassis, dried thyme, and notes of Tahitian vanilla grace the nose, trembling into rich, mouth-watering dark plum, clove, and silky tannins.

93 points James Suckling
Aromas of blackberries and lead pencil with hints of spice follow through to a medium body with fine, velvety tannins and a long finish. Umami, asphalt and just a touch of cedar. A balanced and elegant blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot. All from Lake County. So delicious and drinkable. Drink now.
