The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc comes from 27 sites and sees 10% matured in 7th fill neutral oak barrels after four months on the lees. Attractive on the nose with Golden Delicious, pine and light resinous notes. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite taut and lightly spiced; just a faint hint of stem ginger appears towards the finish. Enjoy this over the next seven to eight years.

Looking for some “bang for ya buck?” Look no further than Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa. The wine shows the focus, texture and minerality of a wine twice it’s price!

Southern Right is the value line from one of South Africa’s great wineries Hamilton Russel. They specialize in Pinotage and Sauvignon blanc on a strikingly beautiful 448 hectare property in the cool, maritime, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation, just behind the old fishing village of Hermanus. The wines are named after the rare Southern Right whales, which frequent the cool South Atlantic Walker Bay, 3 kilometres from the vineyards. With each bottle sold, Southern Right makes a contribution to their conservation.

Made in a way ensuring the personality of site and soil is not overridden by the forceful character of the variety, this wine exhibits the typical Southern Right balance of "Old World" minerality and length with hints of "New World" palate coverage and body. The 2020 expresses individuality, minerality and palate complexity ahead of pure, pungent varietal aroma. A significant percentage of fruit from iron and clay-rich soil has added a mid-palate structural component and additional overall complexity to this wine. The Sandstone soils have contributed their typical bright, tensile character and a marked minerality.

Hints of lanolin, waxy green-apple skin and lime peel add depth to the pear, melon rind and honeycomb core of this delicious white wine. It’s light, refreshing and balanced, with zingy lime-juice acidity adding verve to the palate while accents of sweet grass and green fig dance on the finish.

This lively bottling is crafted by Bayten (short for Buitenverwachting, which is Dutch for beyond expectation) a Sauvignon specialist recognized for their elegant, mineral-tinged whites. Beyond offers tremendous bang for the buck, consistently earning Best Buy/Best Value accolades. Bursting with invigorating flavors of passion fruit, melon, kiwi and lime supported by pronounced herbal notes and a mineral edge, it exhibits an elegance typical of cool climate Sauvignon Blanc.

Kadette Cape Blend contains 50% Pinotage, 20% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon matured in used oak. It has a light red cherry and bergamot tea scented bouquet. The palate is fresh on the entry with a touch of green pepper, nicely balanced, simple but with ample freshness on the finish. This is a well-made, entry-level wine from Kanonkop and for the price, it comes recommended.

On the nose it displays prominent aromas of apple, guava and passion fruit. The palate is wellrounded and juicy with hints of vibrant, fresh pear which has a lingering aftertaste.

A red blend which shows red currant, plum and peppercorns on the nose while the youthful palate is rich with generous berry fruit and spice, balanced with integrated oak nuances. The palate is smooth with firm tannin a long fresh finish.

This modern, multi-layered and Bordeaux style blend shows aromas of blackcurrants, blueberries, plums and black pepper with nuances of pencil shavings and dried herbs. On the palate, the intense concentration is prompted by a firm tannin structure and layers of sweet fruit with an excellent finish.

This has a lovely nose of cedar, grapefruit, lemon rind, apricot stones and tarragon. Salted butter. It's medium- to full-bodied, deliciously saline and creamy, with a long and elegant finish.

This elegant and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc shows aromas of citrus, delicate floral, herbs and ripe stone fruit. The easy drinking palate is soft, fleshy and juicy with hints of limes and a chalky minerality with a balanced and seamless finish.

Roodeberg Black is our classic red blend wrapped in an intense layer of dark ripe fruit entwined in deep toasted oak. On the nose, pristine red and black fruits with vanilla and mocha lingering in the background. Palate is markedly fresh yet intense with quality dark fruit balancing the mocha, vanilla and space. The finish is smoky, rich and intense; long and persistent like a burning ember, reminiscent of the fire that gave life to this blend

Popping out of the glass with succulent dark red cherries and fresh potpourri essence, the 2022 Pinot Noir bursts with notes of wild herbs and turned earth. Medium-bodied, the palate offers flavors of black raspberry with a firm-gripping tannic edge. It shows seductive florals with spicy flavors and ends with a food-friendly finish. Just under 20,000 bottles were filled after 10 months of barrel aging in 36% new French oak.

Medium-bodied flavourful Pinotage shows true varietal characteristics with aromas of black currant, strawberries and wild berries. The sweet, juicy tannins carry hints of spices on the palate. Seductively soft and beguiling, it rewards every sip with a lingering and gentle finish
