Aged in small casks, this Oban is a little lighter than the 14 year old version, but also shows a little more saltiness and minerality. A great aperitif, or a good whisky to explore for those looking to get away from the standard Highland malts.

Appearance: rich antique gold. Nose: oily, waxy and nutty, balanced by ripe orchard fruits. Notes of almond fruit cake on denser Christmas pudding, with cereal and orange behind. Body: medium to rich. good viscosity. Palate: The comforting chewiness of rich fruit-bread, hints of orange zest and clove, growing drier, still minty, with crisp green apple. Finish: long, quite syrupy at first, then drying, with elegant coating tannins rich in dark chocolate character. 43%abv - Dried Fruit and Nut -

The nose begins with honey and vanilla aromas. The silky-smooth palate begins with warm malty flavors and burnt oak, followed by an earthy finish with notes of peat, sea salt, and burnt caramel.

"The sherry is very dominant and cloying, which is unfortunate. And I'm not crazy about the quality of the sherry (or perhaps even the wood it was aged in). I have great respect for both Highland Park and Binny's, but this is somewhat disappointing for a Highland Park." Whisky Advocate, 55% abv

Scotland- Peaty nature with a unique expression, and is quite different to the usual style of Highland whisky. "Torfa" refers to the Old Norse word peat, has a brooding, smoky character. Natural color and bottled at 100 pf. 3rd place at Int. Spirits Comp. in Best Peated Whisky Category.

Distiller Notes
Vibrant amber-gold. The nose is fresh and beautifully light, sherried fruit combined with a tempting spicy sweetness and a int of sappy oak. The palate is full-bodied with a delightfully sherried fruit, oak and delicious sweet sensations. The finish is long and flavorsome, with a lingering spiciness.

Speyside, Scotland- Straw gold color. Sherry-sweet malty aromas combine with a light smokiness and subtle spice. Delicately light, sweet and malty, with hints of biscuits and cream and peaty notes. Leaves a long, slightly spicy finish with a lingering smokiness.

Nose - the smoke is calmed by a marine character with aromas of thyme, heather, ginger and nutmeg.

Palate - there is a noticeable delicacy and softness in texture and style with notes of vanilla, honey and smoked oysters. The finish is smoky, of course, but there is a sweetness that recalls orange, mango and apple. - Rich and Peaty -

Islay, Scotland- Burnt Sienna in color with Dark chocolate and raisin aromas that compliment the classic Bowmore smokiness. Wonderful cedar wood and rich treacle toffee flavors and a robust and warming finish.

On the nose, sweet notes of pear and red apple meet a fabulous tropical twist of ripe bananas in syrup. Rich caramel toffee notes are followed by mandarin orange, vanilla and honeydew melon to taste. The finish is well balanced and exceptionally smooth.
