Currently showing oak-forward notes of fresh cedar, vanilla and toasted wood. This is followed by earthy tones of capsicum, black currant, bramble, fresh black cherry and boysenberry. Elevated acidity keeps the wine alive from start to finish; chalky tannins coat the palate.

A mix of Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Grenache. Mixed raspberries, blackberries and blueberries appear on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied, ripe and supple, yet with just enough softly dusty tannins, a velvety texture and no suggestion of raisined fruit. With its amiable nature and fresh, lingering finish, it should win lots of fans.

91% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Petite Verdot, 3% Cab Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from 3 vineyards: the 60yr old Brigantino Vineyard, the 45yr old Wheeler Ranch, and the 75yr old Tres Pinos Creek Vineyard. The Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc come from Paicines AVA, rocky alluvial deposits above the Tres Pinos arroyo. All vineyards experience warm days, cold nights typical of the Central Coast, allowing these late ripening Bordeaux varieties to be picked at high acidity and moderate sugars. Fermented whole berry with a very light crush in open top fermenters, allowing slower extraction, of tannins into the must and lots of oxygen into the fermentation for polymerization of tannins. Pressed after approximately 20 days. Aged for 11 months on lees in mostly neutral barrels with a couple of active oak barrels sprinkled in. 13.2% abv

Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon
Regular priceYour Price: $6.99

Red Diamond sources grapes from the best locations around the world to reveal the distinct personalities of outstanding varietals. Benefitting from California’s warm climate and long growing season, our Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black fruits and subtle notes of oak. Flavors of creamy cherry and black coffee lead to a soft and supple finish.
This wine pairs well with tomato-based sauces, such as bolognese Puttanesca sauce, are a great match for Cabernet Sauvignon—the sharp flavors of the tomatoes balances the acidity of the wine. Chinese cuisine such as peking duck, mu shu pork, or braised soy pork have high fat levels and slightly sweet hoisin or soy flavors that bring out the fruit flavors in the wine.

94 points Wine Spectator
This wine marks a comeback for the venerable Robert Mondavi Winery, with its first appearance in our Top 100 since 2011. Winemaker Nova Cadamatre helped oversee significant replanting in the famed To Kalon vineyard during her tenure (she left the winery in 2021). As young vine parcels came into production, she employed a strict selection for the winery’s The Reserve, instead feeding the new-parcel fruit into the middle-tier Oakville bottling (renamed The Estates starting with the 2018 vintage). Relying on organic farming practices, with native yeast fermentations and no filtration at bottling, this is very much a new and promising Mondavi.
Throws off some pretty gorgeous aromas of violet, anise and sweet bay leaf, with a core of ripe, streamlined boysenberry and blackberry pâte de fruit flavors following closely. The finish has a racy graphite edge, while the fruit and aromas just spill through. Approachable now, too. Drink now through 2034

94 points Wine Advocate
The 2022 Pinot Noir Vino de los Ranchos comes from two vineyards, one planted in the 1970s and one in the 1990s, and was vinified using 30% whole clusters. Stone and gravel dust give way to raspberry and cranberry on the nose, plus accents of dried herbs and Earl Grey tea leaves. The light-bodied palate is finely chalky and super fresh, with notable concentration, complexity and spiciness, and it has a long, ethereal finish.

Spoken West was built on the premise of producing delicious wines from California that embody the beauty of the West Coast. Produced by Jamey Whetstone who is no stranger when it comes to producing top notch California wines. Jamey moved to Napa Valley from his home in South Carolina to manage Mustards Grill in 1996. Simply captivated by the community, lifestyle, and culture of wine country, he found himself quickly growing roots. By 1998, he had begun his winemaking education at Turley Wine Cellars where he would remain in his apprenticeship until 2005. During that time, he spent a summer sabbatical working for the Seysses family at Domaine Dujac in Morey-Saint-Denis and laid the groundwork for Whetstone Wine Cellars, which he founded in 2002.
All vineyards are certified sustainable. Grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 11 months in a combination of tank, and French, oak barrels (10% new)

Joaquinite is a rare gemstone found in a remote mine deep in the rugged mountains of San Benito County. It is found often alongside the also extremely rare Benitoite and Neptunite. We utilize Pinot Noir from the historic Gimelli Vineyard (aka El Gabilan) in the heart of the limestone (calcite) laden Cienega Valley. These alkaline soils, and strong diurnal shift from the warm day/cold night dynamic that allow the grapes to both ripen and retain freshness. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir from two different vineyard blocks planted in 1997.

Winery: We pick Syrah early while still “crunchy”, with high acidity and low potential alcohol. Then, we utilize whole-grape, un-crushed carbonic fermentation so as not to extract coarse, under-ripe tannin – leaving the wine feathery and chill-able. To ensure a pure, luscious fruit profile we utilized the age-old Cote Rotie “Roasted Slope” method of co-fermenting a small percentage of viognier that heaps on pretty floral aromatics to the darker, brooding Syrah profile.
Lavender on the nose and exceedingly smooth and feathery on the palate with red and purple berry fruit. Polished, soft, and fine. Fresh, yet approachable and inviting. Benefits from only a slight chill, best popped at cellar temperature (55F) and allowed to gradually warm up as the bottle (quickly) depletes. 12.5% abv

Gideon left Renaissance in the late 1990’s to found Clos Saron, just a few miles down the road, but has always felt a connection to Renaissance, both as a piece of his history, and also as a totally unique and special terroir.
Which brings us to the present: Gideon was given the opportunity to reclaim some of the greatest wines he made during his time at Renaissance! These wines have never left the winery and have been aging perfectly, undisturbed for the past two decades.
The cuvees that were hand-picked by Gideon are showing outstandingly right now, and should continue to age gracefully for years to come.

La Storia Merlot is and has been consistently fine example of the ability of this classic Bordeaux variety to make solid, tasty and age worthy wines. The main aromas and flavors are of dark cherry, plums, a bit of black licorice and herbs. The new oak barrels contribute a touch of vanilla, brown sugar, cocoa dust and toast. On the mouth the wine is soft and viscous, balancing the acidity and the tannins well for such a young wine. The finish is long and soft with suggestion of sweetness backed by ripe tannins. Classic, old school, Sonoma zinfandel—forward fruit balanced by acidity and structure. In the glass a vibrant ruby color leads to aromas of black cherry, white pepper, and baking spices. The rounded tannins evolve as the wine opens balanced by notable acidity. Well defined notes of brambly red fruit make up this succulent wine along with peppery spice notes. The overall flavor profile is very linear and has a subtle but lasting finish
.
If you ask him, Winery Sixteen 600’s winemaker Phil Coturri might quote a Levon Helm song and describe himself as a “poor old dirt farmer.” However, after over 40 years pioneering organic and biodynamic wine-growing in California, descriptions of him range from “famed organic viticulturalist” by the Hollywood Reporter to “the ubiquitous wizard of sustainable winemaking” by Sonoma Magazine. He was born with the cultural palate of Italian immigrants, weaned on the music and ethos of San Francisco in the 1960s and planted deep into the rocky hillsides of Sonoma Valley.
The unique logo and label artwork is done by famed psychedelic artist Stanley Mouse whose work adorns the covers of albums by the Grateful Dead, Journey, and Styx, as well as rock posters for Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, 13th Floor Elevators and numerous others.
