Chambertin-Clos-de-Beze is a Grand Cru vineyard and corresponding appellation of the Cote de Nuits. It forms half of a vineyard that is regarded not only as the most prestigious in Gevrey-Chambertin, but arguably the whole of Burgundy. The soils of the Chambertin-Clos-de-Beze vineyard are well drained and stony, with a thin layer of pebble-strewn, chalky topsoil over a deep, rocky base. The percentage of clay in the soil reduces higher up the site, giving way to drier, looser limestone.

Alain was born in 1950 to Yvon Burguet, a tacheron for Domaine Tortochot who also worked his own vines in Gevrey. fter military service, Alain returned to Gevrey and decided to start his own domaine, working exclusively with rented vines until 1974 when the opportunity arose to buy his first 2.10 ha of vines in the village. He bottled his own production from the start, and began to earn a reputation for himself, which was boosted around 1982 when Becky picked up Alain?????s wines. She brought Jean Troigros to taste, who was utterly impressed with the Gevrey Vieilles Vignes and promptly added them to his restaurant?????s list. Alain continued to expand his domaine, acquiring 1er Cru Les Champeaux in 1985, inheriting some of his father?????s 3.5 hectares in 1991, while still working rented vineyards. Well before the more global movement toward sustainability and almost 20 years before Ecocert was created to certify organic agriculture, Alain insisted on organic methods.

Sourced from Mendocino County appellation, this cool coastal region has a longer growing season, thus creating a bright, fruit forward Pinot Noir. After harvest, the fruit was gently de-stemmed and moved to small open-top fermenters for a three-day cold soak. It was then inoculated with select yeast strains for fermentation. The cap was punched down 2-3 times daily to reach the desired color and level of phenols. After a gentle pressing in a basket press, the wine was settled and transferred to French oak barrels where it underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in French oak for nine months and then fined with organic egg whites prior to bottling.

Winemaking Notes:
The pinot grapes that go into the Cherry Pie Tri-County Pinot Noir are harvested at night to keep them cool, which creates stable sugar levels and better levels of acidity, as well as ensuring the fruit is less bruised in transport to the winery. The grapes are then fermented in individual county lots and brought together in the blending process. Cherry picking the best lots from the various counties, the wines selected are those that best exemplify the characteristics of each county?€?s terroir.

Tasting Notes:
The 2017 Cherry Pie Tri-County Pinot Noir jumps from the glass with aromas of sweet toasty oak with macerated cherries, cranberries and a hint of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is a juicy attack of Rainier cherries, well-balanced with a long, silky smooth finish.

Winemaker Notes:
A silky, lilac and red berry scented bouquet with flavorful layers of raspberry, dark chocolate, and hints of vanilla and toasted oak.

88% Pinot Noir and 12% Cinsault. Sourced from Vi??edo Larqui, a 4.5-acre vineyards planted between 1998-2008 in granitic soils at 330 feet altitude. Farmed lutte raison??e. After a 10-day cold soak, the wine was made in concrete; aged on the lees for 12 months and bottled lightly filtered.

Features juicy plum and black cherry flavors, with a weave of anise and earth details. Falters a bit on the finish, where the wood plays a more prominent role. A very appealing Pinot. Drink now.

The Hanging Vine pinot noir packs a lot of varietal purity for the price-tag. It's got lots of that special bright red cherry note that is almost always lacking in the budget category. There's a nice full-feeling to the finish and should pair well with lighter meats, salmon, and snacks. For the money, there is almost nothing else in this category with this much pinot character. - PJ

A fresh easy drinking expression of Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley. Lush, ripe red fruit dominate with only 12.5% abv. Far superior than anything you would get from Burgundy at this price range.

David Gordon created the Jeanne Marie label (named after his wife) to offer great value California wine by utilizing the many contacts he has in Napa, Sonoma and the Central Coast to source the finest grapes available. Producers such as Caymus, Lewis Cellars and Miner Family provided grapes and helped with the winemaking for earlier cuvees. The wineries that are currently used wish to remain anonymous, but the quality has remained very high.

David Gordon has been the wine director at Tribeca Grill, the famed New York City restaurant since it opened in 1990. Owned by restaurateur Drew Nieporent and actor Robert DeNiro, Tribeca Grill features a dynamic wine program with a list of over 1800 selections and is a Grand Award winner from the Wine Spectator.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast, medium ruby in color, has a nose of red and black cherries, with touches of dusty earth, charcuterie and tar. Medium-bodied, the palate is silky and full of luscious, spice-laced red berry fruits, finishing long with a touch of floral perfume.

N. Kendall wines was founded in 2011 by Finger Lakes native Nathan Kendall. He is an internationally trained Winemaker who has experience in Sonoma, Willamette Valley, Waipara (NZ), Adelaide Hills (AUS), and Mosel (GER), although the plan was always to return to the shores of Seneca Lake. His passion is to create wines in an old world style using quality grapes and minimal intervention.

Having traveled throughout the world focusing on cool climate regions and varietals, the Winemaker's focus is on Riesling and Pinot noir. All lots are carefully sorted, and the pristine fruit then undergoes long spontaneous fermentations. Post fermentation, the wine ages for months on the gross lees to enhance the texture. Wines are then carefully racked, never fined, and gently filtered before bottling. The bottled wines then receive 2-3 years of bottle age to evolve and achieve the best possible expression of the Finger Lakes.

The 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, which comes from vines within Nuits Saint-Georges, has a glorious bouquet for a generic red Burgundy, featuring brambly red fruit; maraschino cherries develop with time. The palate is medium-bodied, the 10% new oak lending a little weight on the midpalate, and there is fine definition and length on the finish. - Winery

The 2021 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills has a medium ruby color and pretty scents of cinnamon stick, aniseed, iron, underbrush and charcuterie with a core of red cherries and cranberries. Medium-bodied yet very concentrated, it has a powdery frame, sparks of refreshing acidity and a very long, graphite-driven finish. Precise and detailed, it deserves to spend another 2-3 years in bottle.

As this wine is poured into your glass, you will notice its beautiful, dark ruby red color. This is a classic Russian River Pinot Noir that expresses aromas and flavors of dark fruit. The first impression starts in the nose with aromas of intense blackberry, cola and black raspberry followed by a touch of vanilla and hints of rhubarb, baking spice, licorice, dark chocolate and earth. The wine is richly textured and balanced with a beautiful brightness. Flavors of black cherry, tobacco and sweet barrel spice shine throughout. Fine tannins round out the long, juicy finish.
