The 2021 C??te de Brouilly has turned out nicely, mingling aromas of cherries and berries with notions of burning embers and forest floor. Medium-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with a lively core of fruit, powdery tannins and a sapid, saline finish, it marks a return to a more classically proportioned style after several richer, riper vintages. This tasting note refers to the cuv??e imported in the United States, but readers in the rest of the world will find that the estate's Sept Vignes bottling, which sees a light filtration, is very similar in profile

Fans of old-school Beaujolais will adore the 2021 Fleurie Cuv??e Tardive from the Clos de la Roilette. Bursting with aromas of crunchy red berries, peonies, spices and plums, it's medium-bodied, ample and enveloping, with succulent acids, melting tannins and a pretty, perfumed finish. Despite the challenges of the year, the Coudert family have produced a lovely classic, and it's a wine that's much more drinkable and vibrant than some of the recent banner vintages at this address.

The 2021 Fleurie from Clos de la Roilette is drinking well out of the gates, offering up pretty aromas of spiced plums, petals and orange rind, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and melting palate. Fleshy and fine-boned, it's a pretty, demonstrative wine.

A highly fragrant bouquet evokes fresh cherries, raspberry amd wild flowers. The palate is enveloped with sweet red fruit, lavender and spicecake. This has a compelling blend of richness and energy. The finish is long and flively with subtle tannins. This is lovely Gamay!
