between the Sangro River and Terre di Chieti of Abruzzo, Italy. The clay base of the soil offers excellent water retention in this dry climate, and the rocky topsoil lends the wine its refreshing minerality. These independent small farmers partner up to offer terroir-driven wines of fantastic value. Pale rose color. The nose is persistent and fruity. The palate is soft and pleasant and totally crushable! Vinified from Montepulciano and a little Merlot.

Grab your red and white checkered tablecloth, your spaghetti marinara, and your date for Friday night. This is the ideal red-sauce joint rosso from Sicily. When we were coming up in the biz, those old-school Chiantis used to be the go-to wines for our Billy Joel "Italian Restaurant" wine, but today this suits the bill perfectly for your inexpensive red for red sauce. - PJ

The wine is aged on the lees for about 3 weeks, which accounts for its round, smooth, and remarkably fruity flavor.
Food Pairing: It is ideal as an aperitif, or with fish, seafood (a must with oysters), and cheese.
Aging Potential: Best enjoyed young (2 years).
Located southwest of Bordeaux in the commune of Haux, Ch??teau Lamothe has crafted estate-bottled wine since the 16th century. For four generations succession was passed down on the mother?€?s side and since 1956 the estate has been run by the N??el-Chombart family. Over the past 60 years the family has amassed prime vineyard land which now spans 80 hectares of clay and limestone slopes on the Right Bank. Additionally, they restored the distinctive fa??ade of the historic chateau (now pictured on all Lamothe labels) and renovated the 17th century limestone quarries into underground cellars ideal for aging.
Vigneron Damien Chombart believes that sustainable farming is not only stewardship of the land, but also as a way to enhance the life of farmers, communities and society. It is a holistic challenge the connects economic success in agriculture with environmental and social responsibilities for all involved.

Last year this won our 2021 vintage Ros?? taste-off! The new 2022 vintage is rockin' once again!
50% Syrah, 40% Grenache Noir, 10% Mourv??dre. From vineyards blanketed in galets, the smooth round stones of Ch??teauneuf du Pape fame, comes a vivacious, garnet-colored rose with bright red fruit notes. Galets Rose gets a few hours maceration, 2 hours fermentation for Syrah and Mourvedre, 4 hours for Grenache giving the wine a darker color and a bit more spice and structure. No sulfites during the winemaking process and minimum amount added at bottling. This drinks like a light red wine.

A blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard - display a headier, more pungent aroma than usual for blends of this genre. Lime and tangerine zest and a spicy, lightly smoky note suggest a hint of exotic over-ripeness, and while the wine is refreshing, there is a hint of minerality to its texture, pronounced fruit skin intensity of gooseberry and peach!

"Domaine Isle Saint Pierre is our answer to lively, easy-drinking ?€?bistro-style?€? wines that are perfect for everyday drinking!" - Importer
Isle Saint Pierre is a small island in the Rhone River, located 25km south of Arles and 15km away from the Mediterranean in the heart of the Camargue region. In 1927, Parisian wine merchant Pierre Chassaing founded Domaine Isle Saint-Pierre and devoted himself to cultivating vines and raising sheep. A few vines remain from that time, together with a flock of 200 sheep that provides the manure needed to nourish the vines. The proximity to the water means that the island enjoys a coastal climate (with a cooling influence from the nearby bodies of water) and deep, well-draining sedimentary soils composed of sand and silt. Though the estate dates from the 1920?€?s, it wasn?€?t until 1972 when the next generation set about replanting the vineyard with noble vines grafted onto American rootstock. Today it is run by the fourth generation and farmed sustainably.

Located in the eastern Loire, just south of Blois, the little known appellations of Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny are a must for any fan of Loire wines. Cheverny, the larger of the two appellations, consists of Sauvignon dominated wines while the tiny Cour-Cheverny zone must be made from the ancient Romorantin variety. Both zones have clay, limestone and silica soils. Francois Cazin hand harvests his old vines at yields that are well below average in any given year. His Cheverny is fresh and floral, with appley-texture and crisp acidity. The flavors are sleek and precise.

A traditional Sancerre in all aspects of the wine, clean aromatic nose, full value texture, assertive acidity, and a tension-filled finish. Crafted by the Sauvignon Blanc whisperer himself, Gerard Boulay. This is a blend of the young vines from his organically farmed vineyards in the premier Chavignol district. Impeccable. Small production and high demand make this a bit of a rarity. It just arrived and surely won?€?t be around for long.

A blend of the native Muscat and the non-native but heat-tolerant Gew??rztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. Well over half of the cuv??e is Sauvignon Blanc, which provides both the body and acidity. Depending on the vintage, either one or both Muscat varieties are used in addition to a small proportion of Gew??rztraminer to boost the aromatics. An alltitude of 200-400 meters. Hand harvested, fermented in tank for 3 months.
Bring on white wine season, I?€?m ready! I need a break from these cool weather full-bodied reds. If you are in agreement, then look no further than Gramona Gessami Penedes Blanco 2021. It?€?s like Spring in a bottle! Gessami is an organically grown blend of Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, all very aromatic varietals. There is a lovely bouquet of white flowers and orange rind, an interesting combo to say the least. What stands out to me is the texture and fullness of the wine achieved without oak-aging. This is undoubtedly due to the Gewurztraminer. This white is much rounder than a lean New Zealand or French Sauvignon Blanc for instance, but much more refreshing than a full-bodied Chardonnay. Those of you looking for something different to drink this Spring should definitely give this a shot.
Gessami is crafted by Gramona, one of the most prestigious Cava producers. Gramona has a storied history in Penedes, Spain going back to the 1920s! Each generation has brought something new to the estate with Xavier expanding the scientific understanding of lees aging and the inherent properties of Xarel.lo while Jaume has pursued the conversion of all their vineyards ?€? owned and leased ?€? to organic farming as well as converting the family?€?s vineyards to biodynamic farming as well.

"Our Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown in various microclimates of the Napa Valley. The warmer Napa Valley microclimate gives us grapes with melon and citrus characteristics in both aroma and flavor. The cooler areas of Napa Valley provide fruit with a solid, crisp backbone that gives the wine an exciting liveliness and balances the rich creaminess from "sur lie" aging."

"Founded in 1927, Domaine Isle Saint Pierre is located on a small island in the Rhone River. It is run today by fourth generation vigneron Julien Henry.
The proximity to the water provides a cooling influence that allows the wines to retain great freshness even in the far south of France, and deep well-draining sedimentary soils comprised of sand and silt.
Because of the terroir and temperature, they are able to grow varietals that thrive in a Continental climate, such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon.
In 2018, the estate received the Vignerons Developpement Durable certification in recognition of their commitment to sustainable winegrowing.
Although the Isle Saint Pierre wines come from the very southern stretches of France, they display wonderful freshness and aromatic appeal. At harvest, as soon as the grapes enter the cellar, they are cooled to a temperature below 16??C.

Grapes were selected from a wide variety of our Wairau and Awatere vineyards in Marlborough to ensure a complex and harmonious flavour profile.
It all began in 1943, when Nikola Nobilo, having arrived in New Zealand from Croatia, planted his first vines and began to turn a dream into reality. Combining over 300 years of family winemaking tradition with innovative approaches to winemaking and viticulture, Nikola was an early champion of premium New Zealand varietals. Today, winemaker David Edmonds continues his passion, selecting premium grapes from Nobilo vineyards to craft pure classic wines of distinct regional character. From Marlborough, Hawkes Bay, Gisborne and beyond, Nobilo vineyards span New Zealand. Care has been taken to plant vines in the most welcoming spots - valleys with ample sunlight, rolling hills with ideal soil characteristics - ensuring grapes benefit from the best that these wine-growing regions have to offer.
