Opening in the glass with notes of cherries, berries, sweet spices and licorice, the 2020 Brouilly is medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with bright acids, polished tannins and a seamless, harmonious profile. It's another serious wine from the Ch??teau de La Chaize, where serious investments in the vineyards and winery are really paying off.

Tremendous spicy and balsamic complexity overlays the ripe (but not a jot overripe) blackberry fruit of this concentrated and imposing Brouilly. Such a beautiful silky texture it?€?s hard to tear yourself away! Keeps pumping out the fruit at the very long, intense finish. Should age extremely well. Drink or hold.

Very well structured, yet restrained and elegant with a cool and delicate personality for the warm vintage, this is a really striking Fleurie. I love the interplay of sour cherry fruit with fine tannins on the concentrated, yet sleek and focused palate. Slowly expands in the glass as it aerates. Very long, seriously elegant finish. Drink or hold.

A particular success, the 2020 Fleurie Clos de la Chapelle des Bois wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet berries, cherries, rose petals, orange oil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and fine-boned, it's elegant and seamless, with bright acids and a long, saline finish.

Great blackberry fruit aromas and excellent concentration on the medium-bodied, impeccably balanced palate. Long, complete finish. Needs a bit more time in bottle to give its best, but impressive depth. A blend from this producer's seven parcels in this appellation. From organically grown grapes. Bottled unfiltered. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

Ch??teau Thivin, the oldest vineyard in Mont-Brouilly, traces its origins back to the 14th century. Since 1877, the Geoffray family has proudly upheld its legacy, with Claude Edouard and his wife, Sonia, now representing the sixth generation. Spread across 30 hectares, the estate's vines flourish in over 10 distinct plots within the C??te de Brouilly, Brouilly, Quinci?? and Southern Beaujolais regions. Committed to organic farming, Ch??teau Thivin prioritizes biodiversity and soil health through practices such as natural grass cover crops, minimal plowing, compost application and eco-pasturing with sheep. In the cellar, tradition reigns supreme. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo traditional vinification, often with whole clusters. Aging occurs mostly in foudres, with only the Cuv??e Zaccharie seeing time in barrels. The gravity-fed cellar design ensures gentle handling of grapes and wine throughout the aging process. Chateau Thivin's classic wines, characterized by purity and energy, reflect the exceptional terroirs of their vineyards.
