93 points Wine Advocate
The 2017 Numanthia represents a blend of their terroirs selected from over 100 plots of ungrafted vines, and it fermented with commercial yeasts and matured in 225- and 400-liter French oak barrels, 60% of them new, for 18 months. They lost 30% of the crop to frost, and then it was warm and dry and the grapes ripened thoroughly. They made an effort to remove all the raisins and did a softer vinification to moderate the extraction. It's ripe at 15.5% alcohol and has a pH of 3.79 and is quite harmonious, big and rich but with no excess and with integrated oak.

94+ points Wine Advocate
Toro (almost) didn't suffer the frost of 2017 that decimated Ribera del Duero, and in that early harvest, the grapes for the 2017 Pintia were picked between September 6th and 17th trying to keep the freshness and acidity. They also did a softer extraction, reduced the percentage of wine that went through malolactic in barrel and used less American oak for the élevage, trying to achieve a more elegant wine. Still the wine is ripe, juicy, round and powerful at 15% alcohol, with a mellow palate with a pH of 3.9 and 4.5 grams of acidity. The wine matured in new and used oak barrels for 12 months. It feels quite fresh and harmonious, not showing any heat, not as fresh and atypical as 2016. It keeps the poise and the balance and has abundant but fine tannins. These wines repay time in bottle, and even if approachable now, it should get better with time. It's like a refined version of the 2015. A triumph over the adverse conditions of the year.

Review is on the previous vintage.
92 points Wine Advocate
The 2019 Almirez was produced with grapes from their 41.7 hectares of vines that are 15 to 65 years old. The destemmed grapes were foot trodden and fermented with yeasts selected from their own vineyards for 18 days. Malolactic was in barrel, and the wine matured for 14 months in French oak barrels, 30% of them new and the rest second use. Despite the new oak, the wine is very fruit-driven and does not come through as oaky. It's floral, spicy and juicy, ripe without excess and with a velvety mouthfeel. This is approachable from early on, and even now, it has the silky tannins from 2019. It's less tannic than other vintages and has very good balance. There is more depth here, provided by the older vines, and there's more nuance too.

94 points Vinous
Sweet, chewy and focused on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit and licorice flavors and suggestions of candied violet, cola and mocha. Finishes with mounting tannins and strong persistence, leaving sappy blueberry and bitter chocolate notes behind.
