The 2019 Chardonnay Trout Gulch is fabulous. Palpable energy and tension drive a core of crushed rocks, lemon confit, mint and white flowers. Intensely saline, tense notes really bristle in this magnificent Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay. The 2019 is naturally very young, but it is stellar. Dried flowers, sage, mint and dried herbs linger.

Firm lines of graphite and loamy earth streak through the opulent aromas of black plum and dried violet on the nose of this brooding Pinot Noir. The palate is a whirlwind of exuberance, as leathery tannins wrap around more graphite minerality, dried violet and lavender, stewed plum and a touch of bittersweet cocoa on the finish

Broadbent 10 Years Old Verdelho Madeira

Broadbent 10 Years Old Verdelho Madeira
Regular priceYour Price: $49.99

Broadbent's NV Verdelho 10 Year Old is showing very well, offering up an attractive bouquet of cherries, orange rind, cardamom and honey cake. On the palate, it's full-bodied, satiny textured and enveloping, with ripe but racy acids, a generous core and a nicely defined finish. This is a real success.
Fermentation: The grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and pressed. The must obtained was then allowed to ferment at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is stopped after 6 or 7 days by addition of neutral grape spirit (96% minimum) in order to maintain the desired sweetness degree.
Aging: Aged in old oak cask in the traditional ?€?Canteiro ?€?system. After maturing, the wine underwent racking, fining and filtering before the blend was assembled and bottled.

The Brut Premier Cru Carte Blanche is a beautiful introduction to the Champagnes of Camille Saves. The aromas and flavors are totally alive in the glass, with chiseled, saline notes that provide backbone and vibrancy. This gorgeous, delicious Champagne shows why Bouzy is so highly regarded. Pears, white flowers and slate flow through to the chiseled finish. The blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay works beautifully. This is without question one of the best Champagnes on the market in its price range. - Antonio Galloni

The 2019 Savigny-les-Beaune Les Lavieres 1er Cru, grown on 30?50cm of alluvial soil over stratified hard limestone subsoil and matured in around 35% new oak, is blessed with an engaging, pure bouquet of red currant and cranberry jus, a palpable sense of minerality coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and vibrant red berry fruit, the 60-year-old vines imparting wonderful complexity on the finish. An outstanding Les Lavieres that comes highly recommended.

Dusty black cherries, cinnamon, sage, dried florals and savory spice lift effortlessly from the glass, forming a bouquet that keeps me coming back again and again. The palate is laced with silky textures, along with pure ripe cherry and plum, mineral underpinnings and subtle spice. Brisk acids and fine tannins mingle, presenting a wonderfully balanced experience. The finish is long and savory, with dried cherries and minerals resonating over a coating of refined tannins punctuated by lingering spice.

Limpid ruby. Vibrant red fruit, floral and baking spice scents show fine detail and mineral lift. Juicy raspberry and cherry flavors spread out steadily through the midpalate and take on suggestions of botanical herbs, cola and candied lavender. Smoothly interwoven tannins frame a long, spicy finish that emphatically repeats the floral and cherry notes.
Johan Vineyard is an 85-acre, Demeter-certified biodynamic site in the Willamette Valley. This site is almost always our last Pinot pick of harvest. Although it's a relatively low-elevation site, due to its proximity to the coast and the winds that howl through the Van Duzer Corridor every summer afternoon, the fruit here tends to ripen later than in our other vineyards. It is primarily marine sediment soils, and the benefit of biodynamic farming is completely apparent when one stands in this healthy and alive place. Our Johan Pinot Noir always displays a lovely, deep red berry core, with hints of marionberry, black tea, tobacco leaf and graphite. The tannins and acids in this wine are typically strident in their youth, indicating a long and fulfilling life in the cellar.
