The pale yellow robe is very clear. The nose shows a nice expression of freshness, citrus and white flowers. The mouth is fresh with a nice tonic acidity and minimality. 100% Chenin Blanc. Vineyard planted in 1984. Direct pressing. Fermentation and maturing in stainless steel temperature-regulated tanks. Tartaric stabilisation in cold room.

Produce at it’s Chateau de Bonbonnet estate in the Cognac region of France, Citadel is a melange of nineteen botanicals. All juniper is grown on the estate: it is a true chateau-to-bottle gin. Citadelle exudes delicate aromas of fresh flowers highlighted by more assertive citric scents. On the palate, the juniper cedes to spiciness. Well balanced, it is elegant and soft, with a nice equilibrium between intensity and finesse. 44% abv. “Spirit of the Year” at the 2017 World Spirit Awards

There's good cut to this, and the firm acidity finds a nice balance with the flavors of bread dough, spiced citrus peel and juicy Golden Delicious apple, with a modest finish. WS 89

Clos de Nouys is the essence of dry Vouvray and this 25 acre estate is found just outside the eponymous sleepy village, where they vinify Chenin Blanc. This is as good and affordable as Chenin Blanc gets. On the palate this is dry, full bodied and with a hint of flinty minerality and fantastic acidity for a clean finish that suits seafood perfectly. the Clos de Nouys is a 25-acre estate within the Vouvray appellation of the Loire Valley, with vines averaging 35 years old. This is one of the oldest winemaking estates in the AOC area: its wines were served on the SS Normandie transatlantic liner in 1936, and its parcels of vines were already listed amongst the best sites on the 1907 geological maps.?? Its vine plots have been acknowledged as being some of the best of the area. The terroir consist of hillsides vineyards, facing south, on clay and limestone and a thick layer of "Tuffeau", a soft limestone with water-retaining properties making it very interesting in periods of drought.

Rémy Martin V.S.O.P Cognac has a copious palate with notes of ripe peach and apricot, wild violets and oaky vanilla. It's silky with a hint of licorice and a balanced finish.

Organic / Biodynamic

A racy medium-bodied expression of Aligote. From 6.3 hectares of vines on high, cool slopes located in the lieux dits of Croix Rougeot, Belle Croix, Cote de Coutance, Cornevin, Cote de la Canne and Vignes de Forterre. Vines age between 10 and 30+ years old. The vines are farmed biodynamically and grapes are harvested by hand. The wine is fermented at cold temperatures in stainless steel vats using native yeasts. The wine is aged on its fine lees in stainless steel.

This offers much more depth than the price suggests. 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, and 20% Syrah. Violets and garrigue seamlessly reveal themselves from the dark purple core of the wine. The wine is mouth-filling on the palate but soft and approachable. Plenty of structure and supple tannins that benefit from a little aeration. It is hard not to like this classic GSM from one of our favorite under-the-radar Rhone Valley wineries.

Domaine La Manarine practices organic viticulture. Work in the cellar is minimal with little intervention. Fermentations are left to start with indigenous yeasts, with no fining and only a light filtration is utilized. Considering the personal attention and great care invested in his wines, his five bottlings offer some of the best value in the Rhone Valley.

A well structured Bordeaux with berry fruit and a touch of graphite on the nose. It's lovely and soft, with fresh fruit and a touch of spice on the palate, as well as excellent clarity. Medium bodied, smooth and well-balanced with fine tannins and a herbaceous note on the finish.

The 2019 Lynch Bages is every bit as magnificent from bottle as it was from barrel, if not moreso. What a wine! Towering and vertical in its bearing, the 2019 is a total stunner. There is plenty of Lynch Bages charm, but what distinguishes the 2019 most is its spine of tannin and energy. Time in the glass brings out sweet red cherry, plum, blood orange and pomegranate and mint. The 2019 is a great, great, great Lynch Bages. It reminds me of the epic 1989, but with the youthful grip of this vintage. A towering Pauillac, the 2019 Lynch Bages will make a great addition to any cellar. (Antonio Galloni)

A truly transporting wine with beautiful dark, spicy fruits, classic garrigue aromas and flavors of wild Provencale herbs. Would be an amazing pairing with roasted lamb or anything on the grill. Provence in a glass!

60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 10% old vine Carignan and Mourvedre. Sixty acres of terraced vineyards surrounding the property. Average vine age is 30 years old. East-west exposure on northern slopes on clay-limestone. Biodynamically farmed, all grapes hand-harvested. Traditional vinification methods are used with indigenous yeasts and fermented in stainless steel. Aged in large foudres.

Nestled in the hills just below the spectacular perched village of Bonnieux, this idyllic property is run by Jean-Pierre and Martine Margan. The building is from the 17th century and has been inhabited ever since. Springing from the hill is a very strong fountain which supplies abundant amounts of water in even the driest years and the rolling hills behind the property are covered with grape vines, truffle oak trees and 200 year old cherry trees. The Margans know that they have something very special going, and their approach to viticulture reflects this. The sixty acres of terraced vineyards surrounding the property are farmed organically and biodynamically and the average age of the vines is over thirty years old. In the last few years, Canorgue’s wine has become incredibly popular in Europe, and this was only intensified when the region around this estate was made famous in Peter Mayle’s book A Year In Provence. They are undoubtedly at the top of their appellation and the quality level of the wines produced here can often rival those produced in the prestigious vineyards of the southern Rhone valley.

A pure and elegant expression of Pinot Noir, En Coteaux by Jeff Carrel is named “coteaux” or hillside after the location of the vineyards, nestled in the slopes of the French Pyrenees Mountains. En Coteaux is 100% Pinot Noir from Pays d’Oc, Vin de Pays IGP region in the southern coast of France. Grown in coastal climate, cooled by sea and ocean winds. The wine is naturally fermented with no sulfites added. 12.5% abv

Strawberries, oranges and nutmeg on the nose, followed by a fresh, fruity and medium-bodied palate. Lots of juicy fruit. Drink now or hold.

Domaine des Marrans is located in Fleurie, in the heart of the northernmost section of Beaujolais. Founded in 1970, the current proprietor is the young and talented Mathieu Mélinand, who joined the family domaine in 2008. With old vines and crystalline granite sites, Mathieu is growing some of the most pristine Gamay we know. The vines are pruned in the traditional Gobelet vinetraining method and the harvest is done only by hand, using small crates to minimize oxidation. In the cellar, vinification is old school, with semi-carbonic maceration using whole clusters, minimal intervention, and only indigenous yeasts used. The wines are then aged in large older barrels for 10 months before bottling. This lineup is remarkably pure and fresh for 2015, with a grain and spice to the old vine Gamay that underlines how Mathieu nailed the harvest date for this vintage. These wines display their terroir with clear definition and racy floral deliciousness.

This is crafted from 100% Cabernet Franc from Chinon in the Loire Valley, France. This has always been a fan favorite here at PJ Wine. Medium-bodied, crisp, and quite interesting. The Cabernet Franc supplies a fuller texture and length. A very good alternative to those who are tired of Provence. This is an amazing value for anyone looking for a bistro-style rose.

Light orange-pink. Spice-accented strawberry, tangerine and floral scents are complemented by a subtle herbal nuance. Taut red berry and orange zest flavors show fine definition and firming back-end cut. The strawberry note lingers on the nicely persistent finish, which features a hint of fennel.

This vivid Champagne shows up-front and linear definition, thanks to rapierlike acidity, with finely meshed flavors of ripe black cherry and mandarin orange fruit, raw almond, anise and cardamom spice as well as a touch of honeycomb, which all unfurl and expand on the fine, creamy palate. Sleek acidity continues through to the finish, with additional racy character provided by a streak of minerally saline and chalk, which gains momentum through the midpalate and rings out on the well-cut, lasting finish. 2021 Base. The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is a striking wine, and frankly one of the best wines I have ever tasted from Courier. Pure Blanc de Blancs is unusual in Ambonnay, where Pinot plays the leading role. Courtier's NV presents an intriguing combination of the richness that is typical of Ambonnay married to deep, expressive varietal Chardonnay fruit. Smoke, ash, and crushed rocks are all layered into the energetic, vibrant finish. This is a flat-out delicious, utterly joyous Champagne from Courier. 100% Chardonnay

Since 1962, Hine has been court supplier to the British royal house. The award-winning Hine Cognac Rare VSOP is a testament to a company that values quality over quantity. This rare cognac is a blend of more than 25 cognacs derived from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, the two best cognac crus, with the youngest eaux de vie aged at least six years in oak. This smooth cognac features delicate notes of vanilla, jasmine, acacia and fruit and is well balanced and mellow, which makes it perfect for sipping.

Domaine Clos des Rocs Macon-Loche En Pres Foret is characterized by floral and lemony notes on the nose, the attack is fresh supported by a balanced structure enriched with wall fruit aromas.

Some very stony and flinty aromas with graphite. Red and dark plums, too. Smells fresh and very complex already. The palate has great density and a fine, compressed tannin texture, as well as a very focused finish. Spiced black cherries and blackberries, cassis and dark chocolate to close. Short carbonic maceration and juice is racked off during the carbonic process. A captivatingly powerful but focused Morgon.

Nose: Green juniper is front and center. Lemon zest and mandarin aromas highlight the strong citrus here as well. A hint of fennel seed and winter savory lend some depth. But overall, Citadelle Jardin d'Ete smells simply like a citrus-forward gin.

Flavor: The palate is where the melon shines. Yuzu, sour lemon and tangerine early. Mid-palate, pine juniper emerges as well as a pungent, rich hint of Canteloupe and stone fruit. The rich fruit is deepened by an evolving background note of juniper and the bevy of spices. Nutmeg, angelica, cubeb and licorice come to mind?but there is a lot of complexity here.

Finish: Moderately long. The heat is very light. Sipped, it almost seems too mild to be a full proof gin. On the back of the palate cubeb and licorice lead as notes of melon, tangerine and orange peel gently fade. - The Gin is In

Long aging process in seasoned casks produces the noteworthy mineral character and a harmonious, smooth and coherent array of aromas. Elegant, floral, and mineral style with notes of creamy milk chocolate, orange zest and a touch of spice. Fruity grapes on the finish.

In fascinating contrast to “Vaillon”, Defaix’s “Côte de Lechet” is a master class in mineral precision. This remarkably steep site (a 45% gradient) with very poor soil produces a wine that Danny describes as embodying “the real, true mineral expression of Chablis.” Freshly blasted chalk dominates the nose, with notes of lemon, honey, and fresh herbs lurking underneath; still, this is a wine of minerality first and foremost. The family owns a 3.5-hectare parcel of 45-year-old vines in this distinctive cru, most of which are planted within a parcel known as the Clos des Moines.

Notes of lime, herbs and spring flowers preface the 2024 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Sec, a medium- to full-bodied, lively and incisive dry white with a chiseled palate framed by a delicate bitterness and a long, ethereal finish. This is a classic at this address that could gain roundness with time in the bottle. Residual sugar: 7.5 grams per liter.
