These unique, lantern-shaped copper stills, designed by the man himself, are not the only important tools in our distilling legacy. The traditional oak casks in which we mature the whisky give each expression its own distinct characteristics. When George Smith began distilling, The Glenlivet had no age statements and he selected whisky from casks of a range of ages. We have replicated this freedom with The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve, selecting whisky from a variety of traditional aged oak casks. Then, to lend a modern twist to the flavour of the expression, Master Distiller Alan Winchester marries together a selection of the aged oak casks and American first-fill oak casks. American first-fill oak casks are those that have never before been used to mature whisky. Selective use of these casks provides a smooth, creamy sweetness that mingles harmoniously with the delicate flavours and complex fruity tones already present in the whisky.

This 18 year old from Glenfiddich is rich and full-bodied and is matured in a mix of Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. Color: Dark gold. Layers of sweetness (the characteristic Balvenie honey, along with vanilla fudge, nougat, and rich toffee) peppered with dried spice and a hint of tropical fruit (papaya, guava, tangerine). The Smoky Twelve is the perfect marriage of fruit, malt, oak and rich layers of smoke. Three cask matured in an unconventional mix of bourbon, sherry and Marsala this creamy and smooth single malt is multilayered with flavors of ripened fruit, aromatic smoky sweetness and warming oak spice.

One of the best known sherry bombs, the Aberlour A'bunadh. From Gaelic, a'bunadh means "(of) the origin", or "the original", and is meant to honor an earlier style of whisky making at the Speyside distillery Aberlour. Bottled at cask strength, slowly matured in rare Oloroso sherry butts, this malt is full of rich, smooth, complex flavors. 60.7%abv - Rich Fruit and Spice -

"One of the finest Balvenie 15 year olds I've tasted. The flavors are clean, well defined, confident, and beautifully balanced. Full malty foundation (with some ripe barley thrown in). Soft, creamy vanilla, honeycomb, bright fruit (orange, nectarine, lemon peel, hints of pineapple), with emerging dried vanilla, coconut, oak resin, and subtle anise. Polished oak finish. Speyside whiskies are known to be fruity and floral, but as the bad boy of Speyside, Craigellachie defies with its oil fired, rich character. Craigellachie 13 is matured in a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, toffee and fudge notes to the fore, and the sherry casks provide richness and complexity.

Worm tubs and weird stills combine to give a complex malt, but one that needs help from oak to blossom fully. There are hedgerow aromas: black currant leaf, hawthorn berries, and lots of honey. The Original Ten encapsulates the signature smooth and multi-layered character of Benriach. Three cask matured for at least ten years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak, to create layers of luscious orchard fruit, sumptuous honeyed malt and toasted oak, all interwoven with a subtle trace of smoke. The perfect introduction to our signature style and richly layered Speyside Single Malt.

The Singleton 18 is complex and rich with aromas of pear, banana, tobacco and maple syrup. There is honey, apricot and butterscotch on the palate, and the finish is creamy, long and warming. Best with a touch of water added. An excellent 18 year old. 40% abv - Malt and Honey -

Nose: Fresh sherry embraces the maltier, more honeyed aspects of Dalwhinnie. Peaty and surprisingly, still heathery. Spicy yet grapy. Palate: A big, spicy buzz followed by an impressive build-up of very clear, well defined Scotch. After a quick burst of sweetness, a rich, grape effect moves in towards the middle. Finish: Tons of oak. Very, very dry with vanilla dominating. The perfect dram for those in search of a very dry malt finish. (Producer's Note) - Malt and Honey -

Speyside, Scotland- Straw gold color. Sherry-sweet malty aromas combine with a light smokiness and subtle spice. Delicately light, sweet and malty, with hints of biscuits and cream and peaty notes. Leaves a long, slightly spicy finish with a lingering smokiness.
