"A young, white wine produced from the native grape varieties of Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarribi Beltza. Straw-coloured with green sparkles. Intense aroma with hints of tropical fruits (pineapple, citrus fruits.). On the palate it is fresh, fruity and full-bodied with very well-balanced acidity. The bubbles from its own fermentation can be seen." Winemaker notes

Txakolina is the beverage of choice in Getaria, which first received D.O. status in 1989. This is an ultra-traditional wine that has never seen a green harvest, spinning cone, or a wood barrel. Made from the Hondarrubi Zuri (white varietal) and Hondarrubi Beltza (red varietal) grapes, this could the most pure, beautiful, and all around perfect aperitif available. Naturally low in alcohol, clocking in at about 11%, and accented by a bracing acidity, this wine could stoke the most stifled appetite. This wine is meant to be consumed young and shows a delightful sparkling quality, which the locals refer to as "tximparta". It is incredibly versatile with food pairings, but is naturally inclined towards the bounty of the sea and salty charcuterie.

The winery is a family-owned business in Getaria, the birthplace of the Getariako Txakolina D.O. The experience we have acquired after making Txakoli for three generations has made us well-known for the way we respect the wine-making tradition. This respect and the knowledge passed down from generation to generation by way of the family?€?s wisdom enables us to combine craftsmanship with technology, tradition with modernity, producing top-quality wines a personality of their own. In 2009 we built our new winery, incorporating the latest technology in order to create a txakoli with unique characteristics that evokes the green meadows of Getaria from where the grapes are obtained: 95% Hondarribi Zuri and 5% Hondarribi Beltza. Most of the vineyards are located in Getaria and are between 5 and 60 years old. The grapes, trained on trellises and arbours facing the south, are of an extraordinary quality.
