The 2015 Donnas Superieur Vieilles Vignes pulls you close and holds your attention firm with a mix of musky blackberries, dried cherries, woodland herbs and smoky crushed rocks. While this has a lightweight feel, it's fortified with depths of potent dark red and black fruits brought to life by bright acidity, and with savory exotic spices that keep you coming back to the glass for more. Its tannins are smoothed out and round, encasing notes of licorice and balsam herbs that linger incredibly long. This is a gorgeous expression of Valle d'Aosta Nebbiolo at its best.
